Montana Trip 2008

So we just got back from about 5 days in Montana. Joshua's Dad has some land up there, which I had never seen, so we decided to camp out for a few days. Given how spoiled I was at girl's camp (condo camping) this year, we really made up for it on this trip. There's much to be said about showering in the wilderness, almost stepping on a rattle snake while hiking and hearing birds at night that I swear sound like bears.

We did have a couple home cooked meals at Aunt Vonnie's one night and Uncle David and Aunt Dorothy another. We even slept over at Dave and Dororthy's one night so we could go to church with them. So we had a few breif intermissions in our wilderness adventure.

We took a drive up to the Bear Tooth Mountains, where you get up about 12000 feet--where the tree line ends if you can believe it. Breathtaking! We enjoyed absolute peace and quiet for 5 days, drank fresh spring water, read some, slept some, rejuvenated much!

The drive home...not so much our favorite. We detoured through Yellowstone, which added about 5 hours to an already long drive. That part was great, but then driving home through Wy-freaking-oming, behind major slowpokes, we couldn't get home soon enough! Other than that, this was an amazing trip and we can't wait to go back.

Nice pics!! Sounds like you guys had a blast, except for the long drive home. Welcome home Supersheperds, can't wait to see you this weekend :)

Looks like it was a beautiful vacation. Glad there was no near death experiences with rattlers.

Don't go movin' up there and getting all Prairie on us now. ;-P

Seriously ...'Wy-freaking-oming!' I'm not sure how I feel about that?! I guess it's like when someone else talks bad about your mother . . . You can, but no one else should. I'm just jealous that I didn't come up with that first. Looks like you had a great time.

Looks like such a great trip! I loved looking at all the pictures. I'm glad you got to have a "real" camping experience this summer. Sorry girl's camp didn't do it for ya. Okay, that rattlesnake is FREAKY!
